Ice Fishing
Aside from fly and spin fishing during
the spring and summer months, Vermont Outdoor Connections offers ice
fishing action second to none! We can cater to your preferred species or
target them all. Our ice fishing specialties include: largemouth bass,
smallmouth bass, northern pike, brown trout, rainbow trout, lake trout
and panfish. Each species is best pursued during specific times of the
season. (Email for information) During the early season, rainbow trout,
large brown trout and hefty yellow perch are most easily caught. Yellow
perch over 12 inches and weighing over a pound are very common. The
northern pike ice fishing in March is fantastic! Fish over 10lbs are
very common. Lake Bomoseen and Lake Champlain regularly yield specimens
over 15lbs. These toothy giants are targeted with large baits and double
rigs to ensure hook-ups upon every strike. Fighting a monster northern
pike is no small feat! The largest northern pike caught by a Vermont
Outdoor Connections angler tipped the scales at a heart stopping
20.37lbs! All tackle and gear is supplied during your ice fishing
adventure, including: shanty/shelter, auger, tip-ups, rods, terminal
tackle and bait.
A full day ice fishing
for any species can range eight hours or more. Make sure to dress
appropriately!
Half day trips are
also available.
