Spring Turkey Hunts
Treat yourself or fellow
hunting companion to a fully guided hunt for spring gobblers within the
beautiful Champlain Valley. You will be hunting with the owners of
Vermont Outdoor Connections and two of the current Vermont State Turkey Calling
Champions, Nick & Will Smith.
Nick, a Knight &
Hale Pro Staffer and a Browning endorsed guide, offers hunters access to
over 18,000 private acres of turkey hunting paradise. This one-on-one
hunt will take the hunter through countless woodlots and dairy farms in
search of the hunter's Two gobbler limit. Unlike many outfitters, V.O.C.
does not charge for a second bird. Since our inception, Vermont Outdoor
Connections has supplied at least a 90%success rate during every turkey
season. Most spring season success rates run through and past 95%.
Utilizing strategic setups or the "Run & Gun" approach, the hunter
will be put on birds in prime turkey habitat.
How do we
do it? Nick and his
guides locate several birds the evening prior to the hunt. Dictated by
size and numbers, Nick and his guides take the client(s) to their most
likely location. Once a bird is harvested, crippled or missed, hunter
and guide move to the next located turkey to start the game again. The
daily hunting ends once a bird is harvested and requires tagging and
reporting, or by the required 12:00pm (VT state law) If time allows
after a bird is reported, client and guide will embark on another hunt
until the noon hour.
